Dr. Adams Roberts is currently the marketing manager. He join the Surface Analysis business in 1998 as application specialist. With over 20 years of experience in applications of surface analysis for materials characterisation Adam has great depth of knowledge of the subject.  This scientific experience has been developed in parallel with commercial sales and marketing of the scientific instruments supplied by Kratos Analytical.

After studying Analytical Chemistry at the University of Bochum, Andreas Bruchmann joined Axel Semrau in 1992. He worked in different departments before becoming Managing Director in 2010. Now he is responsible for the Chromatography business unit, which supplies automated application solutions for the food and pharmaceutical industry worldwide. He was also involved in the development of the CHRONECT MOSH/MOAH Workstation from the beginning of 2010.

May Yen graduated with a Master Degree in Science (Marine Biotechnology) and Bachelor Degree in Science (Industrial Chemistry) from Universiti Malaysia Sabah. She has 15 years of experience in handling and conducting training on analytical instruments such as UV-VIS spectrophotometer, Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), High Performance Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometer (LCMS, LCMSMS) and Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometer (GCMS, GCMSMS).

Currently, May Yen is the Application Manager for Customer Support Centre, Analytical Instrument Division, in Shimadzu Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.

Anthony studied forensic science at Staffordshire University, and received a Masters in Analytical Toxicology from King’s College London in 2013. He then worked in the commercial laboratory sector, investigating extractables/leachables from polymers, and persistent organic pollutants in sediments and environmental water samples. In January 2018 he started work at SepSolve's laboratory facilities in Peterborough, UK, where he carries out method development, as well as assisting customers with product installations, method setup, and training.

Athena spreads the knowledge of HTA autosamplers and sample prep workstations in the Asia Pacific area. With her international background and more than 10 years of experience, she would love to automate your sampling process and make your sample prep dreams come true!

Ben graduated with a bachelor’s degree in International Business. He joined Shimadzu in 1993 and was responsible for product sales and management of Testing Machines in the ASEAN, India & South Asia regions. Ben is now responsible for channel management to support distributors and subsidiaries.

Chee Geng attained his Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) and Doctorate (Biochemistry) from the National University of Singapore (NUS). His wide exposure in the various fields of sciences enables him to communicate effectively with a larger group of scientists from different backgrounds. After graduating from NUS, he joined the industry as an Analytical Chemist, involved in projects that deal with small molecules traces analysis in the complex sample matrix, requiring hands-on experience in various kinds of mass spectrometry (Ion Trap, Q-Trap, timsTOF, Triple Quad). He is also experienced in optimizing and designing high throughput sample preparations process for LC and GC analysis via automation, in order to improve efficiency in routine workflow. Dr CCG loves learning the latest advancement in technology in the market, looking forward to sharing what he knows with the interested target audience.

Chiew Mei is specialized in the operation of GC/GCMS and the related accessories
She also coached customers/users in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the GC/GCMS system, particularly with the use of CTC multipurpose autosamplers.
Chiew Mei constantly provided professional advice and guided her clients in their method developments.

Dr CCK is a Senior Product Specialist for the GCMS product line in Shimadzu Asia Pacific. He obtained his PhD from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore in 2013 and has a diverse range of experience in analytical and chemical sciences research. Prior to joining Shimadzu, he ventured into the vibrant Singapore tech startup scene. He is now focused on developing hi-fi applications for GCMS in Shimadzu.

Cynthia obtained her MSc in Chemistry at the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. She started working with GC and GCMS in Shimadzu (Asia Pacific) in 2003, including various techniques such as headspace, SPME, thermal desorption, and pyrolyzer. She has delivered numerous GC & GCMS training courses and developed numerous application notes for Shimadzu. Cynthia has also participated in international seminars, workshops, and conferences as a speaker.

Daniela knows all the secrets of HTA autosamplers and sample prep workstations.
She has an M.Sc. in Medical Biotechnology, and for almost 15 years she has been finding answers in the HTA product range to the sampling and sample preparation requirements of customers. She also tests and validates HTA new products before they are finally released on the market.

David has strong technical knowledge in separation science, particularly Liquid Chromatograph. Before joining Shimadzu Asia Pacific as LC Product Specialist, he was a medicinal chemist from a highly reputable pharmaceutical organization, accumulated more than 8 years of research experience. Besides technical expertise, he is also capable to share a lot of tips and tricks in overcoming the challenges in performing excellent separation techniques. 

Eka has been selling Shimadzu's Scientific Instruments such as OES, XRF, XRD, EPMA and SPM in Shimadzu (Asia Pacific) for the past 4 years.

During this time, he has sold several EPMA units to universities, governments, and private companies in various countries in the region, such as Thailand and India - including the first FE-EPMA unit in ASEAN.

Elgin graduated from the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore and has been solving customer application issues for more than 4 years. He provides training and develop applications for users from multiple industries. Be it for GC or for GCMS, one can call him the guru of accessories. 

Elton dedicates his career to food analytics, ensuring the safety and quality of our daily consumption. As a Food Specialist at Shimadzu, he develops and applies advanced analytical techniques to detect and quantify compounds in food products, from contaminants to nutrients. Elton takes pride in advancing food science, enhancing safety, and building consumer trust. His goal is to make valuable contributions to analytical chemistry and the global food industry.

Elvi graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with an Honours Bachelor Degree in Science (Chemistry) in 2017. She has been working with GC and GC-MS to develop new applications while providing operational training and customer support for the past 3 years. 

Cheow Kat graduated from the Technological University of Malaysia, with a Master of Philosophy in Chemistry. With previous industrial experiences in oil & gas and petrochemicals, he joined Shimadzu as System GC Application Engineer and focused on instrumental assembly. He conducts on-site system commissioning, provides application support, and administers customized training for customers as per their respective System GC configuration(s).

Govert studied analytical chemistry in Delft and started his chromatography career at Chrompack (now Agilent) running chromatography training courses. Having gone through Merck (10 years sales on Merck-Hitachi HPLC equipment) and AvansPlus (10 years business development post-bachelor and master training programs), he found his current job via Bruker Daltonics. Now, in Axel Semrau, Govert has a mission: making sample preparation and analysis one.

Jackie obtained his PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the National University of Singapore, He has garnered over 10 years of research, training, and facilitation experience. Jackie meets scientists from various industries to share technical knowledge and collect feedback, understanding their problems and helping them find well-suited solutions in GC-related analyses.

Joyce graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the National University of Singapore (NUS). She has garnered more than 15 years of experience in handling the molecular and atomic spectroscopy instruments such as FTIR, UV, Spectrofluorometer, ICP-OES, and ICP-MS. Joyce has also conducted numerous spectroscopy training courses and provided application support for users from multiple industries.

Kanimozhi is part of the Shimadzu Asia Pacific Informatics Team, providing Laboratory Informatics Solutions such as LabSolutions CS, LIMS, and other QMS applications. She is supporting customers on the implementation of laboratory automation solutions and is responsible for providing consultation on streamlining Lab Workflow, Regulatory Compliance requirements for Electronic Data Management, and Lab Practices/Analysis.

A PhD in Chemistry and having more than 15 years of experience from both academia and Industry with leadership skills (technical and people management) in Laboratory, R&D Environment;
Dr Karthik has developed skills set for Business Development, channel management, Marketing and customer focus; Skills set for Laboratory operation and Quality Assurance; Strong knowledge in Environmental and Food Safety; Experience in Implementing various Quality Management Systems.

Kenneth earned his Master's degree in material science and engineering from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He has more than 10 years of experience in material testing and characterization; and is currently responsible for product management of Shimadzu testing machines for ASEAN, India, and South Asia regions.

Jun Hong is a Product Specialist for LC products in Shimadzu Asia Pacific. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Chemistry) from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. In his current role, he leverages his expertise to enhance HPLC applications, ensuring precise analytical outcomes and providing exceptional client support, driving innovation in chromatography.

GimTong has acquired more than 10 years of experience in the field of customised gas chromatography with knowledge in chromatography chemistry and product design. He has been with Shimadzu Asia Pacific for 8 years as an Application Specialist for System GC, providing technical solutions to clients as well as salespeople.

Zhen Hao graduated from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Biological Chemistry. He has 8 years of experience in analytical science and handles various analytical instruments such as UV, FTIR, TOC, AA, SALD, and RF.

Wan Tung has 12 years of working experience in analytical science, specializing in method development of various LC/LCMS applications. Her recent research work at Shimadzu has mainly focused on fully automated pre-column derivatization of amino acids in a variety of food and biopharmaceutical sample matrices. Prior to joining Shimadzu, Wan Tung started her professional career as a QA/QC chemist in a Pharmaceutical multinational company. She earned her Bachelor's (Honour's) degree in Chemistry back in 2009.

With more than 15 years of experience, Dr. Max is a passionate expert in Mass Spectrometry. He obtained his PhD from Singapore National University in biomedical research on proteomics application by LC-MSMS. Besides proteomics,, he has extensive knowledge in the general field of omics as well as small molecule analysis by LC-MSMS and MALDI-TOF. He joined Shimadzu Asia Pacific in 2020 and is currently providing expert marketing and product support for LCMS in the Asia Pacific region.

Murakami Sachio is Product Manager of UV, FTIR, Fluorescence, and Raman at Spectroscopy Business Unit of Shimadzu Corporation, Japan.

Naatasha has research experience synthesizing and characterizing various materials including nanoparticles, novel polymers, peptides, biomaterials, and microfluidic devices for biomedical applications. She graduated from Nanyang Technological University Singapore with a Bachelors's of Materials Science Engineering (with Honours). She completed her Ph.D. working on RAFT polymers and Native Chemical Ligation synthesis to create nanoparticles modified with bioactive polymer brushes. She is now the Product Specialist for mass Spectrometry and Life Science Products in Shimadzu (Asia Pacific) Pte Ltd.

Naoya Katate is a Product Manager of AAS, ICP-OES, and ICP-MS at Spectroscopy Business Unit of Shimadzu Corporation, Japan.

Before joining Shimadzu, Nicole worked in different analytical instrument industries for more than 10 years. She has worked as a Chemist and had experience in the marketing of different technologies. Since the year 2018, Nicole has been responsible for providing marketing and technical support for the LCMS and Spectroscopy instruments in the Asia Pacific region.

Pravin has more than 15 years of industry experience, of which about 10 years in analytical instruments with expertise in trace element analysis applications using AAS, ICP-AES, & ICP-MS. He is engaged primarily in technical support to regional sales teams and customers. Prior to joining the industry, he did his PhD in Chemistry from the Institute of Chemical Technology (formerly UDCT), Mumbai, India. He is currently based in Singapore.

Preston has worked in Tekmar for more than 19 years. No one knows the instrument better than he does!

Sandy has been working with Shimadzu for over a decade, deriving sales strategies for analytical, scientific and testing products, striving to increase the market share and mentoring a team of 16 talented, dynamic product and market specialists.
She has experience as a Quality Control chemist, learning regulations and documentation in the Pharma business. Then, as an Application Specialist for LCMS & GCMS, she worked towards giving a “total solution” for various markets like food safety, forensics and omics. Even with this, Sandy believes in Kaizen and keeps learning, improving and improvising! Change is the only constant and that’s why she is not afraid of making and embracing changes.

Mochizuki-san, works as the Product Manager for Gas Analyzers within the Environmental Business Unit at Shimadzu Corporation. His recent achievement includes spearheading the development and launch of the latest CEMS analyzer NSA-3090 for SAP region, which was released in Dec-2023.

Qi An graduated with a B.Sc (Hons) in Chemistry and Biological Chemistry from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His passion for food science led him to pursue a concurrent second major in Food Science and Technology from Wageningen University. At Shimadzu Asia Pacific, he had 2 years of experience as an Application Specialist for spectroscopy and TOC instruments before transitioning to the Product Specialist role. He has successfully conducted pre-sales demonstrations, sample analysis, and provided application support across diverse industries.

Teck Beng graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Master's Degree in Material Science. He has been providing application support for OES, XRF, XRD, EPMA, SPM, and ESCA for the past 20 years. He has conducted numerous Application Seminars and Workshops on Materials Characterization/Failure Analysis/Restriction of Hazardous Substances in countries supported by Shimadzu Asia Pacific.

Thomas studied at the University of Applied Science Steinfurt with a focus on Instrumental Analysis. After his Graduation as Engineer in Analytical Chemistry, he worked for 2 years at the quality control laboratory of the Pharma Labor GmbH in Herdecke (Germany).

Then he changed working field and worked at the chemical and veterinary institute Münsterland Emsche Lippe (CVUA-MEL) in Muenster in the field of consumer products; esp. food contact materials (FCM) and cosmetic products. There he worked in research and development on method development and application creation and was technical manager of the department.

Thomas Funke has experience in chromatography, sample preparation and automation technology.

Since the end of 2017, he is working as a Freelance consultant and provider. In practice, he has a special focus on mineral oil analysis (MOSH, MOAH, POSH, PAO, MORE) and in the field of NIAS (Non Intentionally Added Substances) which is why he can now offer you advice and training. With a team of young scientists, he developed the Software Chrolibri. The software was developed for the evaluation of MOSH/MOAH chromatograms because these poses a number of challenges for users in the analysis of MOSH/MOAH. The software is distributed by the company Axel Semrau GmbH (Germany).

Thomas has been responsible for VOC and TOC product lines used in the analytical laboratory industry for Tekmar for more than 26 years. He is truly the expert of the P&T system!

Udi Jumhawan is a senior application chemist for LC and LCMS at Shimadzu (Asia Pacific) Pte Ltd in Singapore. He has experience in metabolomics, food safety, biosimilar characterization, drug impurity, and forensic toxicology applications. Prior to joining Shimadzu, he worked as a post-doctoral research fellow at Kyushu University, Japan. He holds a PhD degree in biotechnology from Osaka University, Japan.

Venjamin has more than 15 years of Non-Destructive Inspection experience, and joined Shimadzu Asia Pacific in 2016. He is responsible for the product management of Shimadzu X-ray Inspection and CT systems for ASEAN and India. He has hands-on experience in electrical electronics, semiconductors packaging, automotive, composites, additive manufacturing, and lithium-ion battery measurement. His passion for NDI enhances his desire to pursue excellence.

Dr Wang Tianhua obtained his PhD at Penn Center for Molecular Discovery, University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) in 2011 under the supervision of Prof Scott Diamond with a research focus on developing therapeutics for blocking SARS, Ebola virus infection.

He then worked in Analytics group at Bioprocessing Technology Institute (BTI), Agency for Science, Technology and Research Singapore (A*STAR). Over the 5 years at BTI, he served as the Co-PI and lead PI of two research grants (GlycoSing and HighGlycoArt) in establishing High throughput glyco-analytics platform based on Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) for protein therapeutics development.

Dr Wang Joined Shimadzu Asia Pacific as a product specialist in 2017. He is taking care of the life science related products and applications in the South East Asia and South Asia region.

After graduating from University of Osaka in 1997, Yuichi Masuda has joined Shimadzu Corporation as Lab TOC Software Engineer. He was then promoted to be Group Manager, followed by Product Manager. He was then General Manager (Environmental BU) managing TOC and Gas Analyzers product line of Shimadzu. He currently works as manager of Customer Satisfaction Department. He has a wide experience in TOC analyzers and was placed in charge for the development of the TOC-1000e from conception to the public launch of the product.
